This is a collection of examples of what  we cover in TE-MA

English Quarterstaff display summer 2004

Note that the quarterstaff’s are tipped and that the one in the foreground is a live staff, meaning it has sharpened shod tips. We use this staff to demonstrate how devastating the English Quarterstaff really was and still is. The second photo shows one of our blunt tips used to shod the ends of the quarterstaff’s.

This next photo shows a moment in a staff on staff fight. It is extremely difficult to spar using the English Quarterstaff because even a ‘light’ wrenched blow or slipping thrust can break bones quite easily.

The next three photo’s show a basic hip throw from a ‘villians blow’. This blow could be from a swinging punch or an attack using stick or bladed weapon.
